Ann Roberts
The Vacation School Tradition

Ann Roberts, our school’s founder, commenced holding Vacation Schools, prior to the Vocational Grades examinations, more than 40 years ago. Her encouragement and expertise was inspirational and gave many a student the confidence to help them through their examinations and further their studies in dance. Miss Roberts always made each student and teacher feel “special”.

Although Miss Roberts herself taught at the Vacation School, she always employed a Guest Tutor to give the students the experience of being taught by either a fellow Examiner of the Royal Academy of Dancing or a very experienced teacher with their own special flair to pass onto students.

The Ann Roberts Scholarship

Each year, Ann Roberts School of Dance awards a Scholarship.

Our Guest Tutor selects a student, of any level, who shows potential for classical ballet and is consistently conscientious during the Vacation School.
